The next mayor of Fitchburg must be “honest”, “charismatic with integrity”, “committed and open-minded”, and, all-in-all a good moral and trustworthy person with the welfare of the citizens of Fitchburg at heart.
Fitchburg needs a mayor who is a businessman with a plan: someone who can get Fitchburg out of its financial crisis and run the city like a business. He must be someone who brings to the table “good management skills” that are hands-on experience with different departments. He must be a team player and can lead the team with a consolidated vision.
We need a mayor who can rise above politics and personal prejudices. He must have the ability to put politics aside and use the office for the benefit of the people of Fitchburg. He must know how to listen and keep an open-door policy that encourages communication among his constituents. He must be the best cheerleader for the city, someone who can engage people in a positive effort and help them succeed in whatever it might be that they are trying to do.
Lastly, we strongly prefer, but do not necessarily require, a mayoral candidate who was Fitchburg-born and bred and is Fitchburg-based. We look for someone who has a proven record of public service but is like an ordinary person who is down-to-earth loyal to Fitchburg and who must have real connection with people and issues affecting ordinary lives.
